Different microclimates, slope formations and soils as well as protecting meadow edges and woods are the key elements of the multifaceted and thrilling single-vineyard site Steinbach. Sand, pebble and gravel conglomerate soils alternate, featuring small portions of loam and lime. From this results the particularity of the site: The soils store little water, thus forcing the vines to root deeply.
The grapes were harvested by hand in the middle of September. After a skin contact time of 18 hours, the grapes were gently pressed. Spontaneous fermentation occurred in big oak barrels and the wine was aged for 12 months on the lees before bottling.
With his fruity aromas and juicy structure this Sauvignon Blanc goes well with fish, seafood, vegetables, rice dishes and white meats.
