Vineyard & Cellar!

Different microclimates, slope formations and soils as well as protecting meadow edges and woods are the key elements of the multifaceted and thrilling single-vineyard site Steinbach. Sand, pebble and gravel conglomerate soils alternate, featuring small portions of loam and lime. From this results the particularity of the site: The soils store little water, thus forcing the vines to root deeply.
The grapes were handpicked in the last week of October and gently pressed. The free-run juice was settled for one day before ranking directly to big wooden barrels. After fermentation with wild yeast, the wine remained in the cellar on yeast lees for almost one year until September 2017.

Recommendations

This long-lasting, multi-layered Pinot Blanc has a good aging potential and is a versatile food companion to seafood, light-flavored meats, light-medium sauces and mild-flavored cheese choices.
