In keeping with estate tradition, this wine is produced in large wooden barrels and aged for one year on the fine lees. These bottles represent the kind of expressive and mineral Welschriesling that would have made grandpa Franz Lackner proud.

The 35 years old Welschriesling vines grow on a steep, southwest-facing hillside in the village of Gamlitz. The vineyard is ideally located on an altitude between 450 and 470 meters above sea level and the soil comprises gravel, sand and some loam, interspersed with scattered gravel conglomerate banks.
Due to the warm summer in vintage 2018, the grapes were exceptionally small and harvest took place early in autumn. After a very careful selection, the ripe grapes were harvested by hand on the 20th of September and then pressed gently. The spontaneous fermentation took place in big wooden barrels and the wine aged on the fine yeast for 8 months.
It goes well with light meals, appetizers, fish, seafood, soups and salads.
